1. What Valy does

Valy lets you photograph a secondhand item to get an estimated resale value and a Buy / Skip indication, generate draft marketplace listings, and track items in a personal portfolio.

2. Estimates are estimates — please read this

Valy gives you estimates, not guarantees. Values, ranges, verdicts, and listing suggestions are automated approximations based on a photo and public market data, and can be off or incomplete. They aren't appraisals or financial advice, and they're not a promise that anything will sell at any price. Your buying and selling decisions are your own, and we're not responsible for a loss from relying on an estimate. Always double-check before you buy or sell.

3. Who can use Valy

You should be at least 16 (or the digital-consent age in your country) and able to enter into an agreement.

4. Your account

You sign up with an email and password. Please keep your login details safe — you're responsible for what happens on your account. You can delete your account anytime in the app (Account → Delete account).

5. Using Valy fairly

Please don't use Valy for anything unlawful or to infringe someone's rights, upload content you don't have the right to use, try to break, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the app or its backend, or use it to harass others or list prohibited or counterfeit goods.

6. Valy Pro

Valy Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks unlimited scanning and more, with a free trial to start.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm.
• The price and billing period are shown in the app before you subscribe. Prices vary by country and are set in your local currency.
• It renews automatically at the same price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
• You're charged for renewal within 24 hours before the current period ends.
• Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID settings. Deleting the app or your Valy account doesn't cancel a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies — we don't process payments or issue refunds directly.

7. What's ours and what's yours

Valy, its design, and its content (other than your own photos and content) belong to us or our licensors. You get a limited, personal, non-commercial licence to use the app under these terms and Apple's App Store terms. The photos and content you add stay yours.

8. Services we rely on

Valy uses third-party services including Google Firebase (accounts, database, analytics, crash reports), OpenAI (image analysis), eBay (market prices), RevenueCat (subscriptions), and Apple (payments). Using Valy also means those services' terms apply, and we're not responsible for them.

9. No guarantees

Valy is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We don't promise it'll be uninterrupted or error-free, or that estimates will be accurate.

10. Where our responsibility ends

To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or lost profit, revenue, or data, from using (or not being able to use) Valy or relying on an estimate. Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law, and your mandatory consumer rights aren't affected.

11. Updates to these terms

We may update these terms as Valy evolves. We'll change the "Last updated" date, and continuing to use Valy after a change means you accept the new version.

12. Which law applies

These terms follow the laws of Germany, alongside any mandatory consumer-protection laws where you live.
